Around April, I lost 3 years worth of files on my external hard drive, as it relates to the gym. That's 3 years of history; 3 years of memory of so many people. It was my plan that I'd eventually get around to sifting through folders and put together tribute videos, post documented footage of training drills and ideas, etc. I think it would have been great stuff to share with the families- especially 10-20 years down the road when memories of these "glory days" begin to fade with the distance of time.
I do have some footage- not everything had been filed away in the BGS folder. But it all amounts to perhaps 1% of what I had. There were some really great photos, too. Most, I don't remember. I'd often go home, download whatever training stuff I had from my camera to my computer, date it, and never look at most of it. I'm sure a lot of video clips were junk that no one would really miss- stuff that didn't get deleted right away. But, then I do remember some things that I wish I had made copies of; or had given to families, right away. I remember one photo of Kort jumping in the air and doing a straddle jump while holding onto balloons. I can't tell you how bummed I am that this incriminating photo is lost!
Anyway, I did have footage of some stuff that the adult classes did. But most of that is gone, now. (Sorry I never gave that horrifying footage of Robert spotting you on a Tkatchev to you, Julia...).
These are a few clips I took one day and uploaded at the request of the gymnasts in them:
