Gymneo in English
Now I'm tempted to invest in their product when the English version is completed:
Spotting techniques for the Jaeger. Watch a preview of the fourth video of our training on this uneven bars release move. (www.gymneo.tv)
Stage 1 : The spotting technique for the Jaeger salto stretched, completely taken apart.
Stage 2 : The full spotting at normal speed.
Stage 3 : Spotting the Jaeger in hard landing, in a competition situation.
Stage 4 : What do you do when the gymnast doesn’t catch the bar?
Stage 5 : The typical spotting for hard landings.
This excerpt marks the official inauguration of the start of the translation of our trainings and our site into English . . .

Preparing for Tomorrow's Gymnastics, Today
Wade's spoken to me a couple of times about anticipating and preparing athletes of today for the trends of tomorrow, so as to remain current and relevant to the times (at least for international, high-end gymnastics). And he spoke specifically to me about bars.
It appears that for the next couple of Olympic cycles, the trend in women's gymnastics will be to connect bar releases. So the Tkatchev technique of not focusing on a specific kind of tap and just swinging up and sitting up and dropping on the other side will now be obsolete (because you can't swing out of it into anything else, aside from kipping). Coaches still teaching Tkatchevs that way will be following the buzzards. They've actually been doing so, ever since the bar distance was changed 20 years ago; yet many still teach the Tkatchev technique that was compatible with the bars in close.
The men's style of tapping encourages strong counter-rotation; and this is what Wade had introduced to Sonya when he started her off on Tkatchevs. Eventually, hers ended up being a kind of hybrid.

Geinger
Cyd caught two in a row today (she caught one yesterday by hanging on with one hand). Coach April caught the 2nd one on camera; I think Evan filmed this one, right before it:

3 in a Row!
Cassie's been frustrated with her Jaeger for a while now; but last Saturday, she ended her bars workout on the positive note of catching 3 in a row. I didn't record her last one, which had more heel drive (but pulled in a little):
