This past Thursday, the few optionals that showed up to practice had the unfortunate good fortune to do some house cleaning over at bars.
I mentioned before about how much chalk the kids waste, as if they think gymnastics chalk grows on trees. So Double A, Cyd, Kai, and Kir got to stick their hands down the rabbit hole by the chalk tray to see what hidden treasures they could pull up.
The girls found tape, wristbands, spray bottle tops, trash, ponytail holders....oh, and a mountain of chalk (including unused pieces of block chalk). The only thing they didn't bring up was the dead cat (no, there seriously was a dead cat underneath the floorboards years ago- or so the owner told me).

I wonder how much of that recycled chalk is going to end up back down inside the rabbit hole?
