Well....about a week ago in "World Records You've Never Heard Of,", nor cared about, we have a new pogo stick backflipping champion:
according to recordholders.org, the record was previously held by Fred Grzybowski. In 2011 at the aptly-named Pogopalooza in Costa Mesa, Calif., Grzybowski backflipped 11 consecutive times.
Enter, Dmitry Arsenyev, apparently in France:
If you check his YouTube channel, you can see he has some level of gymnastics background or trampoline skills (like other extreme sport-types).
I would think that if you are able to do them at all, doing more than 15 shouldn't be an obstacle, so long as you have the room to do more (and he clearly had room for more).
Apparently there are high-performance pogo sticks available (ain't just for kids anymore!). And you can do crazy (or stupid, depending on perspective) stunts like this:
Wow...you can make a contest and become a record holder in almost anything. Can't wait to see the most consecutive forward rolls on a treadmill in under a minute happen anytime soon. Maybe I'll go do one in a row tomorrow morning, and be crowned the first undisputed record holder in that event?
